CHESTER (Quakers)

norbu_meditation_teacher
Our meditation classes in the Quaker Meeting House teach a slightly more advanced level Kadampa Buddhism and meditation than our other evening classes (click for Chester's other beginners class). The purpose of this class is to help people to gain more Buddhist understanding and methods of practice. All beginners however, are welcome to this classes and will benefit greatly. These classes include some Buddhist prayers and will generally refer to Buddhist terminology more than our other evening classes. During the classes Norbu plans to give some commentary to Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life.

Kelsang Norbu teaches the classes in Chester. Norbu is Amitayus Centre's Resident Teacher. He is a Buddhist monk who has been studying, practising and teaching meditation for many years.

Each class consists of guided meditations, a talk and discussion. They last about two hours, including refreshments. The classes are suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced meditators. Each class is self contained, though you are welcome to attend the whole course. They provide an ideal introduction to meditation and Buddhism, teaching effective and practical methods for overcoming problems and increasing happiness in daily life.
